This happens around season 2, when Mako breaks up with Korra. All throughout Book 2, Miki comes to terms with her feelings for Mako: since they met as kids, she has been in love with him from the start. Mako kind of realizes this as well, but with all the relationships he had with Asami and Korra, he is now trying to figure himself out without a lady in his life. So in realizing this, both of them need a little more time...

The two get back together at the end of book three, so no worries. Part 2 will be coming soon.
